Dear *|FNAME|*,
I hope you’re truly letting yourself settle into the exquisite, gentle, and utterly necessary inward pace of Winter. May your days be kissed with quiet grace.
It’s often a sweet irony, isn’t it? We preach the gospel of slow and soft, yet our own beautiful, ambitious hearts still drum the rhythm of go, go, go. Lately, my own body has become my most insistent, wise teacher, gently (or not so gently!) demanding a pause. I found myself studying my calendar, a beautiful testament of intentions and commitments, and was stunned to realize I had woven almost no quiet, restorative breath into the next two weeks. No soft space to simply be.
So, I spent a deliberate morning rearranging the landscape of my time. This wasn’t just logistical shifting; it was an act of profound self-reverence. It meant practicing the art of saying “no”—not just to the beautiful opportunities others offer, but, most vitally, to the ceaseless drive within myself.
A soft whisper of “No, I don’t need to dive into that project at 8 PM tonight.” Instead, I will tenderly begin my evening ritual early. I’ll pour a little extra time into the silent poetry of the journal and the deep exhale of meditation.
A gentle firmness of “No, I am not double-booking this precious energy.” It’s perfectly, wholly okay to let things ripple out a little further on the timeline.
And sometimes, it’s the blossoming affirmation of saying “Yes” instead:
* Yes, steep that fragrant cup of warming tea. Nestle into my most beloved chair and simply letting the magic of the Christmas tree lights wash over me.
* Yes, it is a gentle kindness to sleep in a little. Setting a soft, 20-minute timer for my awakening and taking my time emerging into the day.
** The Rhythms of Vitality
————————————————————
Last week, we began a conversation about the inherent rhythms that govern our cycles and seasons of life. This week, we deepen that exploration, tracing the thread that connects these sacred rhythms to our very vitality—that spark of life force within.
While the energy of Summer feels so outwardly expansive and productive, there is a deeper, more secret fertility at play when the daylight begins its gentle recession. Scientifically, late fall and early winter are actually the most globally popular times for the beautiful magic of conception.
It’s a lovely truth! If you count backward nine months from the seasons of busiest births, you land squarely in the hushed, darkening days of late fall and early winter. So, why are more souls planted—more babies conceived—as the light wanes and the world turns inward?
Researchers suggest that a few compelling, ancient factors are at play, speaking to our deep, biological ties to the Earth:
* The Embrace of Cooler Air: In many parts of the world, the harsh, taxing heat of summer (which can be stressful on the body and potentially impact male vitality and intimacy) has surrendered to the cooler, less extreme temperatures, which are a physiological sigh of relief, reducing stress on our delicate systems.
* The Dance of Light and Hormones: There is a theory that the reduced hours of sunlight subtly influence our hormonal symphony. Changes in melatonin—that sleep-regulating hormone tied so closely to light exposure—may act as a conductor, fine-tuning the delicate timing of our reproductive flow.
* The Wisdom of the Seasons: Historically, conceiving in the fall was a divine alignment, ensuring a baby’s birth arrived in the late spring or early summer. This granted them their first tender months during the warmer, most food-rich time of year. Even within our modern lives, these ingrained, wise biological clocks still gently tick within us.
Embracing this seasonality is an act of deep faith. It is trusting the ancient, primal wisdom held within your own magnificent body and honoring the cyclical rhythms that create the most fertile “seed and soil” for all the beautiful creations—not just babies, but ideas, projects, and new ways of being—you wish to bring forth.
** Sanctuary of “No” and “Yes”
————————————————————
Find a quiet, warm corner, make yourself comfortable, and allow your thoughts to flow freely onto the page. You may want to start by simply writing the date and how your body feels right now.
Part I: The Boundaries of Belonging
* Where am I currently feeling the gentle ache of overcommitment? Name 1-3 specific appointments, tasks, or mental burdens that are draining your vital energy this week.
* Example: Saying “yes” to checking work emails right before bed; volunteering for one more committee; trying to clean the whole house in one day.
* What is the Soft Sanctuary of “No” that I need to establish? Write a kind, but firm, refusal that you will deliver (either to yourself or to another) in the next 24 hours. Write it as if you are whispering it lovingly to your own heart.
* Example: “I choose not to look at my phone after dinner tonight. My evening is sacred.”
Part II: The Blossoming Affirmation of “Yes”
* What is the Blossoming Affirmation of “Yes” that my body and spirit are genuinely craving right now? This isn’t about being productive; it’s about being present and nurtured. Think small, sensory pleasures.
* Example: Yes, I will sit quietly and restoratively for 15 minutes today.
* How can I make space for this small “Yes” today? Physically write the time and place you will honor this commitment to yourself on your schedule.
I hope this practice brings you a deep sense of peace and alignment.
** Cultivating Ojas
————————————————————
As we learn to honor the deep, soul-level rhythms through our journaling, we must also tenderly care for the rhythms of the physical body. True, lasting vitality is built not just through setting boundaries, but through nourishing ourselves with warmth, ease, and deep substance.
This gentle wisdom is beautifully encapsulated in Ayurveda, the ancient science of life. In holistic cultures, the time leading up to conception—or any period of creation and restoration—is a phase of profound nourishment. Ayurveda encourages us to focus on cultivating Ojas—the very essence of vital life force, immunity, and radiant health. It is the fluid nectar that supports all tissue, especially our reproductive essence.
This Warming Ojas Date Shake is a powerful recipe for both partners to prepare the body for conception.
** Ayurvedic Preparation: The Warming Ojas Date Shake

Ingredients (Serves 2):
* 2 cups organic whole milk (or plant-based milk like almond or oat)
* 6-8 pitted Medjool dates, soaked overnight to soften

* 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
* 1/4 teaspoon cardamom
* Small pinch of nutmeg (optional)
Instructions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a blender.
2. Blend until smooth and creamy.
3. Pour into a small saucepan and heat gently, stirring often, until warm but not boiling.
4. Pour into two mugs and enjoy slowly, preferably 1-2 hours before bed.
Action: Make this shake a nightly ritual with your partner this month.
** Story of Success
————————————————————
I asked a client to share her story with us in this newsletter today. I am grateful to her for her willingness to be vulnerable with you.
“So I have never wanted children. Ever. However, my husband did. We obviously discussed this before we got married & both came more to the middle but I was still terribly indifferent. Like, at best, I was indifferent. I would secretly hope he wouldn’t meet the standards I had given him so we couldn’t move forward or that we wouldn’t be able to become pregnant at all. I had tried therapy but no one could get to what was really going on. No fault of theirs, it’s just a shortcoming of only being able to access certain parts of ourselves. I wanted to work on it because I made a commitment & knew there was more than my mentality was telling me.
I met Heather at a wellness fair and immediately knew she was the type of person I had been looking for. I still cannot explain how or why what she does works but it did. It helped soothe the fear & anger I had within me and I started to have feelings of excitement towards the whole idea.
We got pregnant, very easily & quickly after I got my IUD removed. It was WILD to me how immediately protective I felt knowing how I had felt before.
We unfortunately lost her (we chose to believe it was a girl) at 2mo. It was horrific: physically and emotionally. Heather helped me move forward from that and figure out what I wanted to do with the ultrasound & pregnancy test.
We are still trying & now I’m hoping it will happen!
I bless & thank Heather for her work with me and, even if we don’t ever get pregnant again, allowing me to be open to that experience & feel that unique love.” – Love, KT
At Two Hearts Healing, my work centers on the powerful connection between mind, body, and spirit. One of the primary tools I employ is the investigation of the underlying imbalances that create unnecessary stress and tension in the physical and energetic body, which in turn can make conception (https://www.quantamagazine.org/choosy-eggs-may-pick-sperm-for-their-genes-defying-mendels-law-20171115/) more difficult. The preparatory sessions are designed to holistically address and strengthen several key areas, including:
* Nutritional (https://getprojectlife.com/pages/the-fertility-diet?tw_source=google&tw_adid=785522116282&tw_campaign=23292222663&tw_kwdid=dsa-19959388920&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=23292222663&gbraid=0AAAAApgNBqj_CzUPtBplpbPI8mDkZ2HBD&gclid=CjwKCAiAxc_JBhA2EiwAFVs7XCpkWAoFvejSkr4i5P9RyUIA0Jxbu85It5Uwl91zKRozEHf29RyoOxoCrKYQAvD_BwE) Imbalances and Strengthening: Identifying and correcting deficiencies to build a robust, fertile foundation.
* Limiting Belief Systems (https://discoverhealing.com/ref/heatherlefoll/) : Uncovering and transforming subconscious narratives that may be hindering the flow of life.
* Emotional Trauma (https://twoheartshealing.info/emotion-code/) : Processing and integrating past emotional wounds that reside in the body’s memory.
* Balancing Energetic and Magnetic (https://theribbonbox.com/fertility/fertility-goddess-fundamentals/#:~:text=The%20Fertility%20Goddess%20Fundamentals%20are,chakra%20and%20throughout%20the%20body).) Systems: Restoring harmony and flow to the body’s vital life force.
This in-depth process of preparation and alignment typically requires several sessions to be able to dig into all of these areas.
