Last week was all about turning the “to-do list” into a memory. We kicked things off on Monday with a house full of kids and a high-energy finger-food buffet—the perfect “grab and go” fuel for a day of running in and out of the snow.
The rest of the week was a bit of a cinematic rollercoaster. We did a family movie night on Tuesday featuring Die Hard. While the older kids were into it, the younger ones were… less than impressed.
I made it up to them on Wednesday with a full Elf experience. If you’ve never had an Elf Dinner, it’s essentially spaghetti & sauce topped with maple syrup. But in our house, we take it a step further with Elf Breakfast: spaghetti loaded with Pop-Tarts, M&Ms, marshmallows, and chocolate syrup. It is wildly unhealthy, but watching the boys smoosh it all together and eat it with their hands (full Buddy style!) is a core memory I wouldn’t trade for anything.
By the time the kids were tucked in and the stockings were prepped, we were gifted with a fresh blanket of snow for a truly magical Christmas Day.

I was drawn to this book specifically because of its subtitle: The Essential Art of Preparing for Pregnancy.
